Introduction

The Geosciences laboratories for GIS (geographic information systems) and remote sensing were established in the fall of year 2000. Our facility currently consists of a computer classroom and two research laboratories. The classroom is equipped with 24 Windows XP Professional workstations and a multimedia presentation system.   We offer three courses on GIS and remote sensing.  Currently our researchers and students are working on diverse projects such as planetary science, riparian hydrology, oil and gas exploration, aeolian geomorphology, and Quaternary studies in applying GIS and remote sensing technqiues.
