Study Sheet for our Second Exam

The exam will have approx. 30 questions covering the following:

Construction of the Self (chapter 3)

Culture and structure, nature vs. nurture

Micro theories of early socialization

Structural approaches to socialization

Self-Presentation as Management of Identities (chapter 3)

The social nature of self  

• What is an identity
• Measurement of identity
• Self-esteem
• Impression Management

ATTRIBUTION WILL NOT BE COVERED THIS TIME

THEORIES WILL BE  REVISITED

The focus of each exam is the material covered in class. This is largely reflected in the notes I make  available online.  Our textbook is quite comprehensive and should be used as background reading and as selected reading guided by the materials we cover in class.
